Easter Peeps and the Revolation I Temperer

Revolation I chocolate tempering machine

New Revolation I chocolate temperer

I saw Jacques Torres’ chocolate dipped Peeps for Easter. They are really a great idea, especially if you have a chocolate lover in the house. The best part of being in the kitchen is that no recipe or product is static. There is always something you can do to “make it yours” Jacques Torres decided to dip his Easter Peeps in chocolate. Hmmm. What can I do? It just so happens that I got a new chocolate temperer this week! I saw a promotion being done at Dove and had to order one. My ACMC temperer is for when I need to dipped 3000 strawberries at a time or do a big bunch of chocolates. This new Revolation I machine (which I got at the fabulous price of $100!!!) tempers one and a half pounds at a time, the perfect amount for a quick treat for here or friends. So what to do to try it out? Jacques Torres’ Peeps of course!

The temperer came with a pound and a half of dark chocolate and some simple directions. Break up the chocolate, put it i n the back of the temperer; turn it on and follow the prompts. While I waiting for the prompts, I got out my Peeps army and lined then up.

I also had a few scraps of transfer sheets a

nd decided to use them to decorate the Peeps for Easter. The transfer sheets are acrylic sheets coated with cocoa butter for adding a design to finished chocolate. Using tempered chocolate for dipping, then placing the still warm dipped item on to the transfer sheet will allow the cocoa butter to adhere to the chocolate. The design becomes part of your finished dipping project. This time I chose to use the peeps!

The temperer is beeping telling me the chocolate is ready for dipping. I dip each Peep into the chocolate and then place it on the transfer sheets. I put the bunnies on face down. It’s important to remember which side you want showing once your chocolate is done and ready for  your family and friends! The temper was perfect. This little temperer is going to be fun to have around, so simple to use! It made the chocolate shine and snappy too! Easter is going to be delicious! I’m glad I got to order one from Dove Chocolate Discoveries!
